Just as farmers must wait for their seed to mature, so Jesus has told us that He will wait until the gospel seed has produced a harvest that He can stamp with His approval. When that harvest is ripe, when the wheat and the tares are fully mature, all the events we associate with the end will happen very quickly, such as the Latter Rain, Loud Cry, Sunday laws, etc. For example, the “Latter Rain” falls only on mature Christians, which makes possible the “Loud Cry.” We have been living in the time of the delayed harvest for far too long. The fruits of the Spirit that reflect the character of Jesus have not yet matured. Paul often reflected on the parable of the harvest: “This I pray . . . that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God” (Phil. 1:9-11). “Because of the hope . . . which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth” (Col. 1:5, 6). |  Well-known as a college administrator, theologian, and author of over 24 books, Herbert Douglass, Th.D., is also known as a specialist on the ministry of Ellen G. Dick Duerksen is assistant to the president of Maranatha Volunteers International where he serves as Storyteller. Duerksen hosts the weekly television show, Maranatha Mission Stories and joins his wife Brenda as “storycatchers” while traveling with Maranatha volunteers around the world.
Since 2005, Mark Finley has served as General Conference vice president, working with evangelism and television as his primary portfolio. Prior to his current position, he served for nearly two years as general field secretary at the world headquarters, directing the Center for Global Evangelism. Many people know him best as a television speaker: for the current series “Experience Hope,” a weekly Hope Channel broadcast; for 20 years as speaker of the It Is Written telecast; and for the first NET evangelism satellite series broadcast in North America (1995, and again in 1996, 2000 and 2008). Finley has preached more than 20 NET series, broadcast throughout the world. He has also presented more than 150 evangelistic series in about 80 countries—with the resulting baptisms numbering in the thousands. Finley uses his preaching and evangelism gifts to teach others in seminars, field schools, and evangelism institutes. He has written more than 70 books, as well as numerous seminar presentations, major evangelistic series sermons, teaching manuals, and magazine articles. His recorded seminars and series number about 20 and are available for purchase in various media formats. He also writes a Bible study lesson published monthly in Adventist World. Finley and his wife, Ernestine “Teenie,” have teamed up in ministry throughout the years. They share a family of three grown children, Deborah, Rebecca, and Mark Jr., and two grandchildren.
Since October 1999, Del Dunavant has served the Northern California Conference as the Director for Church Growth and Sabbath School Ministries. In January 2008, he transitioned from serving as the Director of Sabbath School Ministries to the Director of Evangelism - while maintaining his responsibilities as Church Growth Director. Dunavant obtained his B.A. in theology from Loma Linda University and his Master of Divinity and his Doctor of Ministry from Andrews University. 
Robert Folkenberg was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to North American missionaries serving in Latin America and Central America. He graduated with a master’s degree in New Testament theology from the SDA Theological Seminary. Prior to his election as General Conference president in 1990, he served as president of the Carolina Conference. Folkenberg has been the director of Global Evangelism/ShareHim since 1999. The ultimate goal of ShareHim is to empower and mobilize laymen and laywomen to be active in a lifestyle of evangelism.
