Unseen Certainties - Elizabeth Talbot

Unseen Certainties

by Elizabeth Talbot

Unseen Certainties: Beholding Him Through the Eyes of Belief: John writes his Gospel so that we may come to believe in Jesus (John 20:30-31). He proposes that there are two levels of reality: the level that meets the eye and the level of belief. The second may only be accessed through believing in Jesus Christ. Therefore, even though the reality that we see and hear with our physical eyes and ears may not be too encouraging, the reality that we perceive when we believe in Jesus Christ takes over our life. This week we will be doing an in-depth study of the Gospel of John along with the booklet "John: God Became Flesh" by Elizabeth Talbot. Join us and rejoice in the reality that Jesus has accomplished on our behalf!

How Adventism Went Global - David Trim

How Adventism Went Global

Learn from the past, be inspired for the future!

by David Trim

Does history matter for a movement focused on the Second Coming and the end of time? Trim will explore Adventist history, with a particular focus on worldwide mission, and show that, even for an apocalyptic movement such as ours, it can be the past that leads to the future. You will hear why our history matters, the stories that can inspire, the mistakes that we need to identify and learn from, and the heritage that continues to shape our identity in the 21st century.

David Trim is director of the office of archives, statistics, and research at the General Conference. Born in Bombay, India, to missionary parents, Trim was raised in Sydney, Australia, and educated in England. His B.A. in history is from Newbold College, and his Ph.D. in history and war studies is from King’s College, University of London. He served 10 years on the faculty at Newbold College, teaching history and religion, and two years at Pacific Union College, where he held the Walter C. Utt Chair of History. Trim is the first Seventh-day Adventist to be elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society. He has held visiting fellowships at universities in three countries, including the University of California at Berkeley, and he is an adjunct professor at the SDA Theological Seminary. Trim is the editor or coauthor of 10 books, as well as many articles and book chapters. He presents “This Week in Adventist History” on the Hope Channel each Friday night. Trim is married to Wendy, a native of California, and they have one daughter, Evie.

The Everlasting Gospel - Elizabeth Talbot

The Everlasting Gospel

by Elizabeth Talbot

Everlasting Gospel: Christ crucified from Genesis to Revelation: Join us as we explore how the plan of salvation is revealed from the very beginning of the Bible. We will analyze the way in which God gave us progressive revelation regarding the cross through the great themes of the Bible: Kinsman Redeemer, Exodus, Passover, Sabbath and many more. We will then focus on the four Gospels to understand how these inspired writers brought all the Old Testament topics together to explain Jesus more fully. This is an in-depth seminar on biblical interpretation. You will be amazed at the unity of God's Word as we lift up Christ that He may draw all to Himself! (John 12:32)

Scandalous Grace - Mike Tucker

Scandalous Grace

by Mike Tucker

A deeper look into the parables of Jesus. Jesus' love and grace is scandalous. That He would die for our sins, is incomprehensible. Take a look at some of the stories of Jesus' encounters with others in the Bible, and how they relate to our lives today. Get to know Him a little deeper through the eyes of the Good Samaritan, the Prodigal Son, the Man Born Blind, and the Paralytic. Feel how deep His love flows for His children, including you!

Mike Tucker is the Speaker/Director for Faith For Today Television, the oldest religious television broadcast in the world. Mike has devoted his life to ministry and has a career marked by service to God and his community. He served for 17 years as Senior Pastor of the 2000-member Seventh-day Adventist Church in Arlington, Texas. He has additional experience as a Counselor, Christian High School Bible Teacher, Youth Pastor, and Senior Chaplain for medical and psychiatric facilities.  Mike holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling and has served as a “Pastor’s Pastor” for ministers in his denomination. He has authored several books, including Journal of a Lonely God; Jesus, He’s All You’ll Ever Need; Meeting Jesus in the Book of Revelation; Every Good Thing; Ten Keys to a Happy Marriage, and many more.
