We chose a digital timer over a mechanical timer because mechanical timers have a nagging habit of drifting off schedule over time. Our water heater energy usage is about to DROP. Not only can we now schedule our water heater usage around our needs, but we can now target off-peak billing times to save more money. Total cost for this DIY project was $84.
